What is a Death Café?
At a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death. Our objective is ‘to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives’. This group is for discussing death with no agenda, themes, or objectives. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session.
Offered by Lulu Cook, APD and Lynn Kelly, teachers at Heart Insight Meditation. Lulu is a dietitian helping people heal gut health, mental health, and food addiction challenges. Lynn is a long time practitioner of the Buddhadharma and an experienced hospice volunteer.
