Sundays, 6pm in Brisbane
Developing a meditation practice is so much easier with the support of a group. Every Sunday evening from 6pm – 8pm, join us as we explore the liberating insights and practices taught by the Buddha. Each week we host experienced contemporary meditation teachers, who give talks on various aspects of the practice.
We sit together at Haiku Arts and Yoga Studio which is located just under the ‘Wrapture’ restaurant on Russell St, a few doors down from West End post office. Head down the concrete ramp and open the sliding door.
The Heart Practices of metta (loving-kindness), karuna (compassion), mudita (joy), and upekkha (equanimity) are fundamental to the Buddhist path. They are also part of how we share what it means to be human, in connection with ourselves and others. In this daylong we will link these traditional practices with wisdom that relates to daily life. Open to all, including those who are new to meditation. There will be periods of meditation, group discussion, and interactive practices, led by Lulu Cook and Lyndi Smith.

We face an endless onslaught of decisions every day, and making better choices is easier when we bring our dharma practice to the process. We’ve all had the experience of making what seemed like “the wrong decision”, so we’ll explore how the Buddha’s teachings can illuminate those experiences with forgiveness and growth. Even better, we’ll reflect on how the dharma can guide us toward choices that expand our capacity to live in the world with greater clarity and wisdom ~ perhaps without making so many mistakes in the first place!
We are very grateful to have the following experienced meditation teachers offering regular dharma talks at Heart Insight.
